First Presbyterian Church
North side of church
The 4'x4' barn quilt is a replica of a quilt that hangs in the fellowship hall of the church. The quilt was completed in 1991 by 2 members of the church, Norma Rhone and Esther Jensen. The quilt contains many christian symbols including the crown of thorns, kings crown, palm leaf and a christian cross.
The barn quilts were made and painted by Rose and Ray Mapel of Rustic Milling and Craft LLC. As Rose and Ray studied the fabric quilt, getting ready to paint the barn quilt, they discovered that one of the connecting small blocks was different than the others. Was this done on purpose to signify that only "God is Perfect"?
